PHYSIQUE KINETICS LLC, Hudson, Ohio’s premiere Pilates studio, offers PILATES PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINING sessions with the Pilates apparatuses, as well as GROUP PILATES MAT CLASSES . Pilates is a complete body-mind approach to functional fitness and an outstanding method of physical fitness training for individuals of all ages, all physical conditions, and all fitness needs. Pilates centers on strengthening the “core” (abdominal and back muscles), improving neck and spinal alignment, broadening body awareness, and sculpting all muscle groups. Side effects of Pilates practice include enhanced energy and mental focus; improved posture, balance and endurance; injury prevention, and heightened confidence.

CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR Kelli Sanford provides comprehensive, professional instruction that corresponds to each client’s physical needs and goals. Ms. Sanford’s Pilates fitness training approach is straightforward, logical, and invigorating. Her philosophy in PILATES PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINING is to encourage people to find a greater depth of understanding how their physical body and mind are interconnected and, through Pilates excercise, creating balance in strength, flexibility, endurance, and mental focus. It is her passion to make Pilates accessible to people of all fitness levels, so they may achieve optimal range of motion and strength of their physical instrument. PILATES CLASSES are ongoing at the studio and openings are available for PILATES PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINING.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a unique total body training system for functional fitness that not only focuses on the development of the physical body, but also focuses on the development of the mind-body connection of the individual. Pilates is designed to promote the advancement of balance, control, strength, flexibility, and fluidity within the entire body. Pilates utilizes a logical progression of exercises that build upon each other to strengthen the body’s core and limbs. Pilates is in some ways similar to Yoga but with more focus on strengthening and alignment.

The apparatuses used for PILATES TRAINING are:

Reformer  |  Chair  |  Trapeze Table  |  Ladder Barrel  |  Spine Corrector

These devices are to assist the Pilates student to correctly perform the exercises and quickly achieve results. Pilates is also practiced without apparatuses, known as PILATES MAT TRAINING, on the floor with a foam yoga-style mat and simple aids such as stretch bands.

Pilates may seem intimidating at first but it is a FUN way to work out and get in shape!  Pilates is great, low impact exercise, especially for older people looking to restore proper body flexibility and functional movement for daily activities, as well as reduce pain and stiffness associated with aging.  If you are looking for Yoga classes, consider trying Pilates for all yoga’s great benefits and more.
